James Stevan Verlinde

James Stevan "STEVE" Verlinde, 61, of Frederic, MI passed away on Thursday June 13, 2013. James was born in Grayling, MI on July 11, 1951, a son of Barbara Faye (Clough) Verlinde and the late James Henry Verlinde. He married the former Anita Barnard on April 10, 1971 in Gaylord. He worked as a Corrections Officer at Camp Lehman for the State of Michigan and retired in 2007. Survived by his wife Anita of 41 years. Children: Amy Verlinde (Bryon Johnson), Henry Verlinde (Sue Wells), Stephanie Verlinde (Jeremy Townsend), and Frank Verlinde (Niki Mapes) all of Frederic. Six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mother: Barbara Verlinde of Frederic Brothers: Craig (Sonja) Verlinde and Danny Verlinde. Sisters: Jean (George) Rosin and Kelly (Vance Jacklyn) Verlinde. Preceded in death by his father James Henry Verlinde. Visitation will be held on Monday June 17, 2013 between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. Kerrigan Clough speaking.
