James Salo

Mr. James C. Salo, 61, of Grayling passed away on Wednesday, October 31st, 2007. James was born in Detroit, MI on March 2, 1946, the son of the late Sulo Einard and Elizabeth (Niemi) Salo. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era on the USS Piedmont. James grew up in Superior Township in the Houghton/Hancock area in the U.P. He moved to Grayling in 2004 where he has spent most of his time renovating his home and traveling downstate to spend time with his children and grandchildren. James married his first with Dorothy in 1967, they raised their family in Clinton Twp until she passed away in 1988. He then married his wife Elaine Faye in 1989. He was retired from the 3M Company since 2001. Survived by his wife Elaine. Children: James John (Jenny) Salo Daniel Andrew (Amanda) Salo Lisa Ann (Tony) Lucido Step-daughter: Laura Elaine (Jonathan) Yaros Grandchildren: John David, James Exavier, Benjamin James, Emma Grace, and Chloe Catherine Salo Brother: Glenn Salo Sisters: Karen Sexsmith, Patti Schimmel, Sheryl Prascius Preceded in death by his parents and his first wife dorothy.
