James Alan Krist, age 71, of Bear Lake Township, MI passed away very unexpectedly on April 10, 2024 at his home.
James was born on September 29, 1952 to Wesley and Virginia (Hofsess) Krist in Detroit, MI. He was a hard worker, enjoyed riding dirt bikes in the summer and snowmobiles in the winter and loved trail riding in his new jeep. He liked to target shoot with his brother and loved his guns. He and his family went on many travel and camping excursions which included an Alaskan adventure trip and a trip to the west coast. He was dedicated to his children’s sports and activities, never missing a game, a motorcycle race or an opportunity to cheer them on. This extend to his grandchildren. He was their main cheering section. He loved his family.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 52 years Marsha Krist; children Jaclyn (Jeff) Newman and Travis (Alice) Krist; grandchildren Emma, Sarah, Laura, Gracie, and Ryan; brothers William (Donna) Krist and Greg Krist; siblings-in-law Sandra Whetstone, Claudia Lindsey, Jim Lindsey; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and fur babies Ryder, Elllie, and Sully.
Jim is preceded in death by both parents, his in-laws, sister Barbara Ramp, and sister-in-law Robin Krist.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Saint Helen, MI.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jim to Ausable Valley Animal Shelter in Grayling, MI.
