James A. (Jinx) Parkinson, 79, of Grayling, Michigan passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022.
James was born November 4, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan, the son of Ethel and Arthur Parkinson. He married Kathleen Witham February 27, 1961 in Grayling, Michigan. Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Jim was a self employed builder retiring in 2005. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid deer hunter and golfer, after retiring he enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. He was a member of Grayling Rotary Club, and a life time member of the Grayling Country Club.
Jim is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughters, Julie (Douglas) Sajdak of Grayling, Mary Beth Morley of Grayling. Granddaughters: Jessie (Jason) Sharpe of Roscommon, Alyssa (Kate) Morley of Clinton Township, Micah Morley (Henry Sale) of Marquette. Great grandson Lincoln Sharpe of Roscommon. Brothers: Gary (Marian) Parkinson of Roscommon, Kim (Denise) Parkinson of Homosassa, FL, Jeff (Jeanne) Parkinson of Grayling. Sister: Kaye Lucksted of Bismark, North Dakota and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers in law, William Kenyon and Orlin Lucksted, and nephew Todd Kenyon.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wedneday, August 3, 2022 with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jerry Hunko officiating.
