Irene Grace Peterson, 86, of Grayling, passed away on April 4, 2017. Irene was born in Clio, MI on October 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Secord) and Carl Tolles. She married Dale Alexander Peterson on May 10, 1952 in Gaylord, Michigan. They were married for 63 years before he passed away in 2015. Through out Irene's working years she worked as Crawford County's Deputy County Treasurer, worked at Gaylord State Bank, worked for Cliff Peterson, CPA, and helped many people with their taxes. Irene was a member of OES #83, served as Past Matron, Appointed Grand Committee, Past President of Wolverine Distict Association, and Lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was involved with many activities while raising her children like Girl Scouts, 4-H, Cheerleading, Fair Board, Miss Grayling Pageant Mom. Irene also enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, basket weaving, bowling, square dancing, water skiing, boat racing, golfing, hunting, fishing, and going to Lake Placid, Florida in the winter. Survived by her children: Pam Bogart of Edmore; Dan (Jacqueline St. Amour) Peterson of Grand Rapids; and Dalene (Jim) Corlew of Grayling. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Sisters: Viola (Robert) Kilbourn of Gaylord and Emma (Joe) Wolf of Ellenton, Florida. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son in law, Gordon Bogart Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 between 5-8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a,m, . Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
