Hazel Tottingham

Hazel Parker Tottingham 91, of Grayling and formerly of Oxford and Lake Orion area, passed away on Sunday May 4th. 2014. She was born on Aug 10, 1922 to the late Lura and Edward Parker. Hazel married Leon Tottingham on Feb. 28th., 1938 in Indiana. Hazel was a wonderful homemaker and she and Leon enjoyed traveling throughout the United States visiting friends and family. At the age of 71, she went back to High School and earned her diploma. Having been a child of the depression, it had not been possible during her youth. She also volunteered at different venues in the Grayling area. Hazel is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Gates (Frank, deceased) of Traverse City and Marlene Barbret (Thomas) of Oscoda, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and all 10 of her siblings. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling on Thursday, May 8, 2014 between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. The funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Thomas Barbret officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church in Grayling, MI.
