Harry Cark "Art" Wiedeman

Mr. Harry Carl "ART" Weideman, 84, of Grayling passed away on January 20, 2007. Mr. Weideman was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 22, 1922, the son of the late Harry and Helen (Nimoth) Weideman. He graduated from Detroit McKenzie High School in 1940. Enlisted in the US Air Force in August 1942 and served as a troop carrier pilot in the Southwest Pacific in 1944 and 1945. Harry was decorated with both an air medal and commendation medal. He retired in 1968 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He married Monica Brady on May 18, 1946 and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2006. He was a Charter member of Grayling Rotary Club, recipient of Paul Harris Fellow award, Lifetime member of Grayling Country Club, Real Estate broker/manager of Cornell Realty 1970-1982. Member of VFW Post #3736. Survived by his wife, Monica , of Grayling; Three children Daughter: Cynthia J. (Arthur) Wakeley of Cheboygan, MI. Son(s): William (Molly) Weideman of Midland, MI., Thomas (Belle) Weideman of Troy, OHio. Grandchildren: Kathrine & Stacey Wakeley; Michael & Christopher Weideman, Susan Soderberg; Peter & Charlotte Weideman. Great grandson: Elijah Soderberg Brother: Robert (Laurie) Weideman Sister: Betty Seeley of Warren. A Military Honors Service will occur in Spring 2007.
