Gregory Joseph (Greg) Petrie, 21, of Grayling passed away due to natural causes in a swimming accident while swimming with friends. on Tuesday, July 1st, 2008. Greg was born in Grayling, MI on June 3, 1987, the son of David Glenn and Kay Marie (Ely) Petrie of Grayling.. Greg was employed in the dietary department at Mercy Hospital. He attended Kirtland Community College and his career goal was nursing. He also enjoyed basketball, soccer, and swimming. Survived by: Parents: Dave and Kay Petrie Brothers: Joshua, Christopher, Jonathon, Nickolas Petrie of Grayling, Michigan. Sister: Elysia Petrie Grandparents: Patricia Ellen Petrie of Grayling, Lillian Mae Yarbrough of Florida, Joseph & Evelyn Ely of Grayling. Many uncles, aunts, & cousins. Preceded in death by Grandfather Duane Petrie Visitation will be held on Friday July 4, 2008 between 3:00 - 8:00 p.m.. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Grayling High School Auditorium, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th, 2008 with Pastor Patricia Petrie officiating ng. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.
