Gilmar Earl ""GIL"" Smith

Mr. Gilmar "GIL" Earl Smith, 66, of Grayling, passed away on Saturday March 19, 2011. Gilmar was born in Oakridge, TN on August 10, 1944, the son of the late Olin D. and Leslie Lucille (Shepard) Smith. He married the former Gail (Townsend) Smith on October 17, 1964 at Utica, Michigan He was a self employed trucker. He owned and operated the Happy Days Diner and Campground in Frederic for the past 16 years. Gil enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, fishing, and riding his Harley. Survived by: Daughters: Devonne Suzette (Neal) Morgan of Frederic, MI. Miranda Smith of Petoskey, MI. Sons: Gilmar Earl (April) Smith of Kalkaska, MI., Vincent Smith of Mio, Michigan., Benjamin Smith of Frederic, MI. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren Sister: Doris (Bill) Wess of Reynoldsburg, OH. Brothers: Morrison (Sandy) Smith of New Baltimore, MI., Olin D. (Bobbie) Smith, Jr. Memorial Service will be held at Happy Days Diner in Frederic, MI, on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Benjamin Smith officiating.
