Geraldine A. "Gerry" Schroeder (Botruff)

Geraldine (Gerry) A. Schroeder, 75, of Grayling, MI passed away Saturday December 8, 2012. Gerry was the daughter of Harry Botruff and Bernice Bergy (Botruff) and was born to them in Lowell, MI April 20, 1937. Gerry graduated from high school in Ionia in 1955. She attended one year at Western Michigan University. Geraldine married Bruce Schroeder in 1956 and made their home in Howard City. They were married for 56 years. She became the mother of two boys Craig and Paul. Gerry worked at Howard City Plaza as sales manager and retired in 1990 and moved to Grayling. She became a member of the Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church, sang in the choir with Bruce and was very active in the Crawford County Christian Help Center. Gerry will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Gerry is suirvived by her husband Bruce Schroeder of Grayling, MI; two sons Craig L. (Joan) Schroeder of Hickory Corners, MI and Paul A. (Sarah) Schroeder of White Cloud, MI; grandchildren Michael Schroeder, Jennifer Knopsnyder (Schroeder), Paul Schroeder II, Jacob Schroeder, Ryan Schroeder, Erika Rito (Schroeder), Adrienne Schroeder, and Luke Schroeder; brother David (Jane) Botruff; and sisters Lucille (Jim) Wright and Gloria (Ron) Renk. Gerry is preceded in death by both parents Harry Botruff and Bernice Bergy (Botruff). In celebration of Gerry's life, there is going to be a memorial service held at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church Sunday January 6, 2012 at 3 pm. There will be a dinner following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Crawford County Christian Help Center and/or to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
