Gerald Lyston Kellogg 83, of Lovells Township and formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Friday November 23, 2012. Gerald was born in Webberville, MI on April 23, 1929. Son of the late Mary (Brailey) and Lyston Kellogg. Gerald served in the US Navy as a pipe fitter from 1946 to 1950. While Serving in the Navy, he was a member of Admiral Byrd's expedition, "Operation High Jump", to the South Pole on the ship Mount Olympus and deployed to the North Pole on the ship USS Bordelon, making him a member in good standing of the "Frigid Circle Club". Jerry worked at General Motors Between October 1957 and August 1986 when he retired as a general forman with Delco Marine formally (Saginaw Transmission). He was married to the late Loma Mae (Mickey) Reeves March 15, 1952. She preceded him in death in 1977. He then married the late Althea (Midge) Bodrie in April 1978 . She precededhim in death in 2008. He is also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, and a great grandson Logan Kellogg. He is survived by his children; Debbie(LeRoy) Paepke, Kenneth (Thelma) Kellogg, Kathy (James/Buster) Boswell, Carol Barajas, and Jeanette (Steve) Berk and also by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, one brother Elmer (Betty) Kellogg and one sister Mary Whiteker. Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 27, 2012 between 9 am and 2 pm at Lovells Community Chapel with funeral service beginning at 2 pm with Brandon Rogers officiating. There will also be a memorial service at Calvary Community Church located at 2895 E. Moore Rd in Bridgeport, MI on Wednesday November 29, 2012 at 1 pm with a luncheon & fellowship Interment will be at Lovells Township Cemetery Lovells, MI.
