George Allen Kent

George Allen Kent, Jr., 84, of Grayling passed away on Saturday, November 11th, 2006. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on January 25, 1922, the son of the late George Allen and Lelia (Futch) Kent. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years in the South Pacific and European Theater. He retired from being Owner/Sales Agent at Standard Oil for 25 years. He married Evelyn (Schrauben) Kent on August 14, 1948 at People's Church in East Lansing, Michigan. Member of Grayling Masonic Lodge & Detroit Shriner Temple. Survived by his wife Evelyn of 58 years. Daughter: Marla (Greg) Chandler of Saline, Michigan. Son: Charles (Kathy) Kent of Hahira, Georgia. 3 Grandchildren: Andrew & Regina Chandler, Courtney Reddish Sister: Helen (Tom) Cochran of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Visitation of family and friends will be at the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Thursday November 16, 2006 at 1:00 -2:30 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 pm.
