George Delbert Fenton,76, of Grayling, passed away on January 21, 2017. George was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 11, 1941 to Delbert and Cora (Miller) Fenton. He served our country in the US Army. George married the former Mildred Davis on November 18, 1961 in Pontiac, Michigan. George was a successful business owner in Grayling. He owned and operated George's Auto Service between 1975 to 1984. In 1986, he reopened Fenton's Auto Service at its current location. George retired in 2003. George also enjoyed being on the Grayling Men's Bowling League and was a member of the Roscommon Circle Square Dance Club for 15 years. He most enjoyed camping with family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Mildred, of 55 years. Children: Tina (Russ) Strohpaul of Grayling; Tracey (Mike) Hoag of Grayling; George (Kathryn) Fenton, Jr. of Grayling; Robert (Monica) Fenton of Grayling; Tammy (Steve) Wirtjes of Lansing. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Jane Thybault of Columbiaville and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother; grandchildren Benjamin and Hayley Fenton; sister, Joanne Kershaw; and daughter in law, Gail Fenton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home between 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
