Garrett Delbert Bailey, Sr., 89, of Grayling passed away on Friday September 17, 2010 Garrett was born in Vanderbilt, MI on August 13, 1921, the son of the late Adelbert and Eva (Leggitt) Bailey. He was proud of the fact that he had served in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class in WW II. Garrett was a Golden Glove Boxing Champ in 1939. He was the husband of Etta (Slagle) Bailey. They were married on May 10, 1941 in Grayling, Michigan He worked long ago for the Crawford County Road Commission and then worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He enjoyed camping with his family, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church He was a member of American Legion Post 106. Survived by wife Etta of 69 years. Daughters: Donna "Lea" (Louis) Pacek of St. Charles, MI. Galah (Gary) Isenhauer of Grayling, MI. Sons: Garrett Bailey, Jr. of Grayling, MI., Randall Burt (Jeanette) Bailey of Vancouver,Washington. 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great grandchildren Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and an infant daughter Gloria Ann. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 21, 2010 between 11:00-1:00 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling, MI. at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21st, 2010 with Dr. William Cargo officiating.
