Ethyl Pauline Henion

Ethyl Pauline Henion, 93, died peacefully at the home of her daughter in Maryland on February 1, 2012. Born in Sundance, Wyoming on April 29, 1918. She came to Michigan at age 7 with her family. She lived in Frederic from 1952 to 2001 when she moved to Maryland. She was citizen of the year in Frederic in 1978. She was a registered nurse, working and teaching in both Gaylord and Grayling hospitals. She was a devoted member of Frederic Baptist for 50 years, playing the piano with love and expertise. Many local residents continued to thank her for wedding and funeral music provided over the years. She is survived by one sister, Vera Cronk of Charlotte, MI; daughter Patricia Touma of Maryland; son David Henion of Frederic; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Paul Henion, her husband of 57 years, in 1998. Visitation will be held at the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home Tuesday, February 7,2012 between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Services will be at the First Baptist Church in Frederic Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at the Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
