Ethel Jane "SUE" Robinson (Ethel Jane Robinson)

Ethel Jane (SUE) Robinson, 72, of Grayling passed away on September 2, 2012. She was born on February 16, 1940 in Monroe, Michigan to the late Ray Shumate and Rose (Bates) Shumate. She spent a great deal of her life nurturing others. She found joy in her 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and she retired from Grayling's Commission on Aging after caring for the elderly for 24 years. Sue also loved reading, crossword puzzles and attending church. Chocolate was her favorite indulgence. She married Edward C. Robinson on January 9, 1960 in Monroe, Michigan. They were married for 46 years before he preceded her in death in 2006. Her son James "Buddy" Robinson and her brother Joel Shumate also preceded her in death. Sue is survived by her mother Rose Shumate of Alabama Children: Robin Sue (Glenn) Miller of Roscommon Dianne (John) Masella of Grayling Edward Charles II (Barbara) Robinson of Grayling Daughter in law: Donna Modica of Monroe 10 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren Sister: Ruth "Dolly" (Leonard) Webber of Georgia Brothers: Daniel Shumate of Georgia Reggie Shumate of Alabama Sister in law: Helen Walker of Monroe Visitation will be held on Thursday September 6, 2012 between 2-8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday September 7, 2012 at Resurrection Life Center located at 2640 West M-72 in Grayling. Interment will be at Lovells Township Cemetery.
