Emogene Ann "GENE" VanDeCasteele, 76, of Grayling passed away on Tuesday Sept 28, 2010. Emogene was born in Lansing, MI on December 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Clifford H. and Lillian K. (Pilmore) Wallace. She married Ceriel M. "VAN" VanDeCasteele on Aug. 16, 1952 in Maple Rapids, MI She enjoyed sewing, bowling, playing organ, playing cards and going to the casino. She attended Grayling Baptist Church. Gene and Van owned and operated Gene's Dinner Bell in Grayling between 1983 to 1988. Emogene is survived by husband Van of 58 years Daughter: Kim (Nate) Martin of St. Joseph, MI. Sons: Scott (Nikki) VanDeCasteele of Grayling,MI., Rodney (Julie) VanDeCasteele of Grand Ledge,MI. Grandchildren: Cassie, Dusty, Travis, Michael, Kim, Tiffany, Amber, Travis, Jesse & Andrew Sister, Sandy Wallace of Lansing, MI. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bill & Ray Wallace Visitation will be held on Friday October 1, 2010 between 11-2 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
