Elizabeth Vera Vajda (Tholl)

Elizabeth Vera (Tholl) Vajda, 87, passed away peacefully Monday Feb. 7, 2011 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City and rejoined her beloved husband and lifelong friend Charlie. Elizabeth was born in Waterford Township, MI on December 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Gideon and Kristina (Carllson) Tholl. Her passing marks a family milestone, as she was the last surviving member of her side of the family. A devoted housewife and mother, Liz enjoyed gardening, golfing, and sunset walks, and was an avid reader. In the last several years, she was a resident of the Brook Retirement Home in Roscommon, where she was very involved in pastimes like cards and bingo. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts and minds of all she came to know, and has left a lasting legacy of love and kindness. Elizabeth and Charles have always been very proud of the six boys they brought in to the worked. Pleasant Thomas (Julie McIntyre) of Jackson Hole, Wyoming Matthew (Judy) of Traverse City Grandchildren are Michelle, Greg, Emily, Nathan, Neil, Kris, Joshua, Jonathan, and Katie Sister in law, Mary Milner of Roscommon. At Elizabeth's request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will take place on Sunday, February 13th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Todd Brunworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Munson Hospice House 450 Brook St. Traverse City , MI 49684.
