Elaine Betty Coates

Elaine Betty Coates, 81, of Omer, MI passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

Elaine was born to Peter and Reva (Owens) Failing in Grayling, MI on October 17, 1937. She worked for many years as a nurses aid. She enjoyed watching wildlife, including the birds, rabbits and deer out her window at home. She lived for and loved her great-grand children, and she also loved her cat, Norman.

Elaine is survived by her children, Mark (Debbie) Coates and Wesley (Tara) Coates; grandchildren, Mark Anthony Coates and Genny (Christopher Noell) Coates; step-grandchildren, Kurtice Erving, Kodi Erving and Kelcei Erving; great-grandchildren, Kayla Noell and Conner Noell; siblings, Larry (Elaine) Failing and Judy Chadwick; and several nieces and nephews. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Condolences can be expressed at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
