Edward Lee "Ed" Franklin, Jr. passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 16, 2021. He was born in Los Angeles, California on July 30, 1942 to Edward and Evelyn (Furstenburg) Franklin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Margery (Davison). Children: Kristin (James) Zolnierek of Rochester, Illinois; Kyle (Roberta Koss) Franklin of Arlington, VA; Kip Franklin of Mobile, AL and dear friend Travis Jones.Grandchildren include Alexander and Paige Zolnierek, and Samuel and Eliza Franklin. Brothers: Terry of Harbor Springs, Tim (Muriel) of Vassar, and Stephen of Bay City. A sister, Candace Taylor predeceased him. He leaves many nieces and nephews.
Ed attended Trinity Lutheran Schools and graduated from Bay City Central, Class of 1960. He went to Delta College, Ferris State University, and Central Michigan University. He taught at Sebewaing High School, Delta College, Northeastern School of Business and retired from Bullock Creek High School in 1997. He relocated to Grayling, where he enjoyed the wonders of northern Michigan.
Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 and memorial service will begin at 12:00. Condolences may be sent to www.sorensonlockwood.com.
