E. Paul Musselman

E. "Paul" Musselman, 87, of Grayling, MI passed away on June 21, 2024 at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on July 11, 1936 to Elvin and Ruth (Fortune) Musselman in Quakertown, PA.

Paul loved God, his church, children and his family. He and his wife Delores enjoyed going on vacations. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman. He liked watching the Tigers and the Lions sports teams. He not only sponsored a bowling team but was very good at bowling as well. Camping, playing his guitar, fishing, and hunting were his favorite activities, especially with his family, whom he taught diligently each of those skills. He enjoyed gardening and raising his own food. 

Paul moved his family of seven at the age of 36 with no known job. Being determined to get out of the city, they moved north to Roscommon on the south branch of the AuSable River. He learned carpentry with the help of Dave Wyman. He became a member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church in 1971 where he helped build the church, was an elder for many years, taught Sunday school, and taught catechism classes. His love for the Lord shone brightly to everyone he came in contact with. His presence in the community is missed dearly.

Paul is survived by his wife, Delores Musselman of Grayling, MI; children, Debbie (Michael) Ames of Mio, Terry (Tex) McGregor of Sebastian, FL, Jim (Kim) Musselman of Indian River, Carl (Kim) Musselman of Mancelona, and Tom (Lisa) Musselman of Traverse City; grandchildren, Jake (April) Ames, Luke (Sarah) Ames, Joni (Will) Smith, Brett (Bree) McGregor, Ryan (Gina) Schlehuber, Wade (Holly) McGregor, John (Ellen) Musselman, Greg (Amy) Musselman, Lindsay Musselman, Zac (Brittany) Musselman, Nate (Amanda) Musselman, Danielle Musselman, and Ashlee (Jacob) Cole; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. A Livestream video of the funeral service will be broadcast on Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home Facebook page. A luncheon will follow the service at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. Private family burial will take place at Pioneer Cemetery in Roscommon, MI
