Douglas Gerald Donaldson passed away unexpectedly on November 3rd, 2021 after a brief illness.
Doug was born in Detroit on December 13th, 1951 to Andrew and Goldie Donaldson. He is survived by his longtime partner Joan Neal, her three children, Toby Neal (Erica), Sarah (Nate) Majerczyk, Amy (Theo) Gibson and their children: Joshua, Alaina, David, and Sean Neal; Toryn and Emmah Majerczyk, and Treighjan, Gianna and Laken Gibson.
He will be missed by his siblings, David (Brenda) Donaldson, Lori Donaldson (Barbara Harris), and Robert (Terri) Donaldson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William.
Doug’s passions in life were fishing, playing golf, deer hunting and enjoying food and fun with friends and family. Known as “D.D. Dangerous”, he livened up every gathering he walked into and even made strangers feel welcome. He kept us laughing with his outgoing personality and sense of humor.
As a young man, Doug was a talented athlete, playing in several local hockey leagues and high school football. He was an avid spectator of all sports and a great fan of music from 60’s rock and roll to modern country.
He was a kind soul with a tender heart who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring of 2022.
