Dorothy Anne Mott (Chivas)

Dorothy Anne Mott, 88, former resident of Grayling, passed away on November 2, 2008 of natural causes. She was born February 11, 1920 in Detroit, and was the second oldest of five daughters born to Charles & May Chivas . She graduated in 1938 from Cass Tech High School, married in 1939, lived in Union Lake area until she moved with her family to Grayling in 1972, and retired to Pt. St. Lucie, Florida in 1990 with her husband of 54 years, Robert Eugene Mott who preceeded her in death in 1994. She was residing in Palm Coast, Florida at the time of her death. She was a Protestant, a former volunteer with the American Red Cross, and an active member in her community in Florida. Surviving daughters are: Sheralyn Nieminen (Duane) of Palm Coast, Florida, Pamela Campbell of Largo, Florida, Denise Harrell of Ft. Meade, Florida, and Doreen Szymanski (Dennis) of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and sister, Barbara Esposito of Largo, Florida. Surviving sons are: Robert Mott, Jr. of Waterford, Gordon Mott (Linda) of Roscommon, Joseph Mott of Clinton Township, Wayne Mott of Frederic, and James Mott of Elk Rapids, Michigan. Dorothy has 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by sons Donald George Mott and Gary William Mott, son-in-laws, Kenneth Campbell and Audie Harrell, daughter-in-laws, Linda Mott, Judy Mott & Cheryl Mott, granddaughters Deborah Mott and Krista Nieminen, and three sisters.
