Dorothy M. Downey (Twydell)

Dorothy M. Downey, 92, of Grayling, MI passed away Monday March 19, 2012. Dorothy was born in Detroit, MI on August 24, 1919, a daughter of the late Madeline (Burke) and Albert Twydell. Dorothy married William J. Downey in 1945. They were married for 43 years until William preceded her in death in 1988. Dorothy enjoyed heading into town and going to Heads Up North and the Grayling Restaraunt. Dorothy is survived by her two sons: William (Linda) Downey of Irons, MI; Richard (Mae) Downey of Montana; 4 grandchildren: Mark (Melissa) Downey, Jeffrey Downey, Melissa Downey, Sarah Downey; 3 great grandchildren: Kaylee, Brady, and Abbie. There will be a visitation Friday March 23, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI. The funeral service will be held Saturday March 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral procession and graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
