Dorothy Jean DeVos

Dorothy Jean (Dunsmore) DeVos, 82, of Grayling, formerly of New Haven, passed away on August 19, 2020.  Dorothy was born to Howard "Bart" and Margaret (Sparks) Dunsmore on May 5, 1938. She was the oldest of 5 siblings and grew up in Memphis, Michigan.

Dorothy married Robert DeVos, on May 4, 1956 and they made their home in New Haven, Michigan until 1973 when they moved their family to Lovells.  Robert preceded her in death  in 2016 after nearly 60 years of marriage.  She then made her home in Grayling.

Dorothy was a strong independent woman.  She spent her life working in hospital administration and real estate.  After retiring she loved garage sales, thrift shops, visiting with friends and taking bus tours.  She was very talented at sewing and made quilts for her family and friends.  She spent her winters at her home in Venice, Florida.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert (Amy) DeVos, Bethany Wheeler and Barton DeVos; grandchildren Barton (Kristen) DeVos, Chet (Kari) Wheeler, Cristy DeVos, Cassy DeVos, Nicholas (Chelsea) DeVos and Abby (Michael) Griffin; two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Liam Wheeler, and one more on the way; brothers Wade and Ralph Dunsmore; sisters Joyce Behem and Kathy Titus-VanPelt;  her niece, Cheri Newsome; and many more nieces and nephews.
