Doris Jean Orser (Parks)- July 08, 1929 died peacefully surrounded by family on October 31, 2018 in Grayling, MI at the age of 89. Doris is survived by her son, Fred Orser (Sally), sister Judith Seals (Donald), Nephews Sidney and Michael Seals, Nieces Sue Hofer, Pamela Macreary , and Kimberly Cummons, Granddaughters Melissa Antio and Lynn Maginity, great grandchildren Mercury & Isis Antio, Emily Maginity, and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Otis & Mattie Lou Parks (Wiseman), and siblings William Parks (Libby), John Parks (Louise), Joseph Parks, Emiline Hofer (Daniel). Doris was born in Huntland, TN and attended the Tennessee School for the Deaf. She was active in her church and played on the Girls High School Basketball Team. Doris was a great advocate for the deaf community and participated in state and national events supporting the efforts of deaf awareness. Doris was a talented upholstery sewer at Chrysler Corporation until her retirement in 1988. She was an avid traveler and loved being outdoors, playing cards and bingo at the Royal Oak Senior Center, visiting local casinos, and enjoyed cuddling with her beloved Chihuahua, Elvis. A Celebration of Life will occur in Huntland, TN in the spring of 2019. All are welcome to attend. Information regarding this event will be announced at a later date.
