Donald James Yelinek, 73, of Beaver Creek Township, passed away on April 29, 2019. He was born on November 3, 1945 in Durand, Michigan to the late Jerry and Emma (Nechvil) Yelinek. Don began coming to Grayling as a young boy. He moved here in 1999, after retiring from General Motors, where he pursued his life long passion of deer hunting and drinking beer on the porch. He enjoyed other outdoor activities that his favorite place on earth provided him. Mushroom hunting, trout fishing, and turkey hunting in the spring. A summer full of wood gathering and an end of summer party every year at his home on Oak Rd which he loved. A fall filled with days of deer hunting and in years past he rounded each year out with winters of snowmobiling. These were his passions but were surpassed by his enjoyment of spending time with his great friends he acquired here in the North. He was a member of the Grayling Eagles and Moose Lodge. Survived by his wife Dena (Wakeley) Yelinek. Children: Don, Mike (Donna) and David (friend, Jamie) Yelinek. He has 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother, Jerry Yelinek and sisters, Maryjane Austin and Martha Wykes and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Don's Life will be held at the Grayling Eagles on May 4, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. Condolences can be sent through www.sorensonlockwood.com. Arrangements by Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
