Donald Charles Williams, 81, of Grayling, MI passed away on Tuesday July 9, 2013. Donald was born in Detroit, MI on March 24, 1932, a son of the late Grace Caroline (Riggs) and Percy Harold Williams. He served in the US Army as an Artillery Captain. He worked as a Design Engineer Supervisor at the company he owned called P.H. Williams and Son. Don was the National Chairman of National Ski Patrol ( involved with US Olympics) for 26 years. He organized many ski areas in the State of Michigan and worked on the Commission to develop laws/rules for the use of ski lifts in the State of Michigan. Don was a member of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Grayling Masonic Lodge and had served as the secretary since 2008. Don was also a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Grayling Rotary Club. Don also served on the board of the Crawford County Commission on Aging. Survived by his son Chris Williams of Wixom and daughter Dr. Kelley Pereira of New York. Grandchildren: Dalen, Garrett, Jordan, and Logan.
