David J. Pomeroy

Mr. David J. Pomeroy, 56, of Grayling passed away on Sunday, December 30th, 2007. David was born in Manistee, MI on May 5, 1951, the son of the late Edward and Esther (Stepniewski) Pomeroy. He was the husband of Sally Pomeroy, they were married on April 1, 2003 in Roscommon, MI David retired from Camp Shawono where he was a social worker. David loved being Grandpa, he was a member of the Grayling War Games Club where he was known as 'Sgt. Pomeroy', a military historian, gun collector, and enjoyed deer hunting. David is survived by Daughters: Mary Pomeroy-Kowalski of Grayling, MI. Alexandria Pomeroy of Grayling, MI. Cheyanna (Matt) Losey of Illinois. Son:Jonathan Gishler of Roscommon, MI. Grandchildren: Brandon, Katie, Emily, Skylynn, Mabel, and Ruth Brother: Thomas (Pam) Pomeroy of Muskegon, MI Sisters: Rosemary (Dick) Swidorski of Manistee, MI Beth Pomeroy of Manistee, MI Several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Grayling, MI . Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2008 between 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Wed. Jan. 2, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grayling, MI, with Father Robert Nalley officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m.. Graveside Services will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Manistee, MI.
