David Wayne Pettyjohn

David Pettyjohn was born in Petoskey, MI on June 3rd, 1947 to Weldon Jack and Juliene (Swanquist) Pettyjohn. Having moved with his family to Grayling at a very young age, Dave considered himself a "Life Long Resident", a fact he was very proud of. Being a Graduate of Grayling High School, Class of 1966, Dave went on to attend Lake Superior State College then Kirtland Community College where he received his Associates of Science Degree in 1970.

David was an electrician by profession; both commercial & residential. A skilled carpenter and mechanic, David was "The Fix-it Guy" for all family & friends. A veracious reader, the large part of his library shelves contained reference manuals of all types and subjects. He always said "If I don't know it, I will look it up and get back to you". Frequently you would catch David with his tool belts in hand heading out to give friends a hand with some project.

David was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Gary Pettyjohn, his sister-in-law Irene Pettyjohn and his brother-in-law Floyd Millikin.

Survivors include: Sister Penny Millikin of Roscommon, MI, brother Ben Pettyjohn (his wife Patricia) of Denton, TX, brother Kirby Pettyjohn (his wife Lynn) of Grayling, MI, sister Robin Kleihege (her husband Carl) of Shelby Township, MI, and sister-in-law Donna Pettyjohn of St. Helen, MI.

Also surviving are 15 nieces & nephews and 31 great nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the management & care-giver staff at "Grayling Nursing & Rehabilitation Community" for the wonderful care David received over the years, we are truly grateful.
