David B. Niederer, 56, of Grayling, MI passed away on February 13, 2016. David was born in Grayling on August 22, 1959 to Fritz and Mae Niederer. David married Nancy (Sorenson) Niederer on September 8, 1984. David lived for Christ and was a devoted Christian. He loved the Lord and his church family. He also loved his family and always did his best for them. David worked for Stephan Wood Products, was a manager at Ben Franklin, a salesman for Outdoor Sports and owner of Signals and Sounds. David enjoyed the outdoors. Hiking, hunting and fishing were among his favorite things. He also enjoyed building river boats, running his saw mill, doing carpentry work, singing, spending time at the cabin and enjoying pie at the Berry Patch restaurant in Paradise, MI. David is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Niederer; children, Jim (Darcie) Harwood, Kary (Todd) Gabriel, Jody (Jason) Neely and Mathew (Brittney) Harwood; grandchildren, Jeff, Danielle, Amber (Wes), Travis, Taylor and Abby; great grandchildren, Stella, Noah, Gavin, David, McKenzie and Gia; mother, Mae Niederer; sister, Lynnette (Mike) Corlew and brother, Philip (Lisa) Niederer; and many nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his father, Fritz Niederer; brother, Fred Niederer; and great granddaughter, Ella Fox. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home Friday, February 19, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 am with a short visitation before from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church in memory of David.
