David Carl Krumnauer, 79, of Grayling, MI was unexpectedly called home to his Savior on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 with his wife by his side.
David was born in Saginaw, MI on February 15, 1946, to Jacob and Wanda (Bodeis) Krumnauer. On March 3rd of that year, he was reborn as a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese, MI, where he attended school through the eighth grade and was also confirmed in 1959. He then graduated from Vassar High School in 1964. He married Sharon Wilsie on October 23, 1965.
David served in the U.S. Army. He went to work for Pontiac, then worked for GM from which he retired. He worked very hard to support his family.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. David could often be found outside by the fire pit on any given day where he spent hours and hours. He was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Roscommon, MI. His faith in Jesus as his Savior was very important to him, and he loved his family dearly.
David will be missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon K. Krumnauer of Grayling, MI; children Kerry (Mike J) Lee of Lewiston, MI and Wayne (Penny) Krumnauer of Grayling, MI; grandchildren Ashley Krumnauer of Grayling, MI and Michael A. Lee of West Virginia; sister Nancy Reinbold; brother-in-law Darrell Wilsie of Caro, MI; aunt and uncle Clare and Ruth Bodeis; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father (Harold Marshall).
Cremation has taken place as were David's wishes.
A funeral service will take place Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 am followed by a light luncheon at Shepherd of the Lakes Evangelical Lutheran Church. Additionally, memorial contributions may be directed there: 241 W Federal Hwy, Roscommon, MI 48653.
