David John Kissane

May 29, 1966 — April 1, 2021

David Kissane, age 54, of Lovells, MI passed away on April 1, 2021. David was born and raised in the Oak Park and River Forest suburbs of Chicago, where he was a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School and Columbia College. He excelled in both his studies and athletics, ultimately beginning his professional career of many years at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

David is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Pat Kissane, and his loving mother, Christine Kissane Show, and brother John Tringl. His life was full and filled with adventure, spanning from Chicago, to Northern Michigan, and even the Bahamas – where he and Mary Pat developed a deep love for sailing, the sea, and wonder aboard their catamaran Wind Cries Mary. David will be remembered as a lover of films and music- especially Jimi Hendrix- and the world’s greatest conversationalist – talking and listening passionately with his family and friends for hours about nearly any topic. David was a foodie in every sense, constantly watching shows, recommending restaurants, experimenting with recipes, cooking for friends and family while sharing pictures of his favorite meals – Deep-dish pizza, Chicago-style beef and Asian food. He had a vibrant spirit and was always quick with a joke, providing constant laughs to the people who loved him.

David’s life touched countless friends and family which includes David's late father, Dennis Kissane, Uncle Dan Kissane (Alice), Aunt Barbara Christian, her son Chez Cristiano, her daughter Jennifer Quillen (Dave) their daughter Maya, Uncle Frank Christian, his children Alex, Frank, Phillip and Libby Christian, Uncle John Christian, his daughter Caitlin Christian, Uncle Robert Christian (Helen), sister in law Tracey McCarthy and nephew Callahan McCarthy, and his beloved grandfather Frank Christian Sr. All will miss him and celebrate him with love.

Memorial services will be delayed until later summer and will be held in Michigan and in Chicago to be announced when as many family members and friends may gather in celebration of his wonderful life.
