Dale Edward Rohde, 86, of Grayling, MI passed away suddenly at home to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry Rohde and Wilda (Leline) Rohde, his two brothers Bud and Ken Rohde and his sister Patty Dunham.
Dale was a lifelong resident of Grayling and he always loved the people and area of Crawford County. He was a member of the U.S. Army and served in the Michigan National Guard for 10 years. His interests included many sports and outdoor activities, such as golf, tennis, skiing, hunting, fishing, boating and canoeing. He also paddled in the AuSable River Canoe Marathon for three years in the late 1950's.
Dale was always a very hard working man who could fix anything. His main line of work was in mechanics, which started at a young age. He owned and operated Recreational Motors and Milltown Marine for 54 years, repairing countless boat engines during that time. Before that he also worked for Bear Archery in Grayling and was a truck driver for a few years. Hard work and faith in God was his way of life.
In April of 1962, Dale married the love of his life, Marie Lindwall and they had 2 children, Kena and Rick. They were wonderful christian parents and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.
Dale was loved and respected by everyone that knew him. Dale will be missed dearly and remembered as a great and honorable man.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 5, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Grayling, MI.
