Dale Alexander Peterson passed away the morning of Sunday October 18, 2015 at the age of 84. Dale was born in Midland, Michigan on May 6,1931 to the late Ronald A. and Gladys R. Peterson. Dale Peterson married Irene Grace Tolles on May I0,1952 and they were married for 63 years. He is survived by Irene Peterson (wife), his three children, Pamela J.(Peterson) Bogart, Daniel A. Peterson with Jacqueline St. Amour, Dalene (Peterson) and Jim Corlew. Dale has 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters RuthAnne (Peterson) Dipzinski, Lynn (Peterson) and Ken Czarkowski and numerous nieces and nephews. In school Dale was known as 'Red' by his family and his schoolmates. It wasn't unheard of for Dale to have to be sent home for some reason or another, and be told to come back to school but Dale being Dale would spend the hours bird or small game hunting instead. Growing up Dale was an avid bird, small game and deer hunter and fisherman. Other hobbies include Top, O Michigan Outboard racing boats along side his wife, Irene. Dale was well known for his apple pies, he was known more for the mess he made while baking said pies. But boy was the end result tasty! Dale was employed by Cadillac Overall as well as Jansen's Plumbing and Heating. He is a Korean War Veteran and was enlisted in the United States Navy for four years. Dale was also a lifetime member and Past Master of the Grayling Masonic Lodge #356. Dale spent most of his time as a resident of Grayling, Michigan on the various lakes and the river. He also went south to Lake Placid, Florida for many years and perfected the art of Crappie fishing.. Dale and Irene Spent time in the Upper Peninsula as well. No matter where Dale lived he found time to make his cabin pancakes, play card marbles and cheat, as well as tell stories such as "Let me tell you about my nine point I shot in 1989" and continued annually, to anyone who would listen. Dale Peterson is preceded in death by his parents and son in law Gordon Bogart, In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Buckmasters American Deer Foundation; P.O. Box 782 Iron Mountain, MI 49801 which is hunting services for disabled and critically ill children and disabled Veterans as well as programs for the homeless. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th from 5-8pm and funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 21st at 4pm. With visitation one hour prior from 3 to 4 pm.
