In Loving Memory of Cynthia Marie Kesseler
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cindy Kesseler, who left us peacefully at the age of 59 on January 21, 2025. Born October 22, 1965 with special needs and disabilities, Cindy touched the hearts of everyone she met.
Although Cindy was non-verbal, she communicated her love and her great sense of humor in a way that everyone understood. It was her greeting with a “hiya” or her reaching out her hand to you or with her big, beautiful smile that showed her love. Her sense of humor was found in her facial expressions followed by a giggle when she was teasing.
Cindy enjoyed swimming, spending time with her family, watching football, the Hallmark channel and, when younger, making confetti out of her siblings’ homework.
Cindy was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her gentle soul. Our family believes that people with special needs are angels sent from God as a blessing to families. She was our angel.
Cindy is survived by her parents, James and Rosalie Kesseler, her siblings Brian (Shelly) Kesseler, Carla Egan, and Cheryl (Steve) Batkoski, several nieces and nephews and her caregiver and friend of 20 years, Sandra. All of whom were her greatest supporters and advocates. Jim and Rosie’s commitment in nurturing Cindy’s kindness and resilience ensured that she lived a life filled with love, dignity, and respect.
Family and friends will gather to honor Cindy’s memory on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling Michigan from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 before the service, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Grayling, MI with Father Matthew Wigton officiating. A luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crawford AuSable Excellence in Education Foundation in the name of James and Rosalie Kesseler scholarship fund or to the Special Olympics.
Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
