Clifford "Cliff" Durant Babbitt passed away at his home on April 15, 2013. Cliff was born to Jessie and Carl Babbitt on September 22, 1923 in Grayling, MI. Cliff married the love of his life on October 16, 1942 to Virginia Lee Harrison from Detroit, MI. Cliff then joined the service during World War II. After he served his country, he was honorably discharged. Cliff continued to pursue several different occupations. He worked very hard to master plumber. Eventually he had to move to Flint to further his occupation. After several years working as a plumber he was employed by General Motors and worked as a master pipe fitter. He retired in 1984 as a 40 year retiree. Cliff was proud to be a 50 year 33rd degree mason, World War II veteran that served in Japan and Korea. Cliff was a very hard worker. He could repair anything. Cliff loved to bowl, fish, hunt and take care of his family. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Virginia Lee Babbitt and his oldest son Anthony (Tony) Babbitt. Cliff is survived by his daughter Marylou Babbitt, his son Steve Babbitt and wife Jeannie and youngest son Lee Babbitt from Grayling. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Upon Cliff's request there will be no services at this time. A memorial will be held for Cliff when his favotire season finally arrives, summer.
