Claire SueAnn Jordan

December 2, 2004 — February 20, 2023

Our lives were completely shattered on February 20, 2023. A light was lost that had lit up the world, and lit up anyone who came in contact with her, our preciousClaire JordanThis spunky, sassy, happy, joyful, mischievous, jokester with an incredible contagious smile, touched thousands of lives across multi-generations and faiths. Claire left us peacefully (which is not a normal word describing our ClaireBear) surrounded by her momma, her doggy Millie, Mimi and Papa, and Bernee (Mimi & Papa’s dog).

Truly a special gift from God, Claire was born on December 2, 2004, she is survived by her parents Sara Jordan and Tosh (Becky) Struwin, Claire is also survived by her incredible loving and caring sister Emma Jordan, her doggy sister Millie, Papa and Mimi-Rick and Caryn Jordan, grandparents-Jack and Sue Struwin, her very special uncles Matt Jordan, Isaac (Elizabeth) Jordan, Gabe (Heather) Jordan, Mike (Amy) Struwin, and aunt Rachael Struwin, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandma Leslie Witt. Claire has a tremendous amount of other family members who also share in this incredible loss.  They adored her and have been touched by her courageous, brave journey in her time here on earth.

Claire loved her Starbucks hot chocolate: a lot! When Claire’s health allowed, she loved attending school, and even riding the bus.  She loved going to camp, any camp, anywhere, anytime, spring summer, winter, or fall. She just loved camp. She loved to dance. She loved boys. She loved to hug you, bite you, kick you and kiss you…all at the same time. And, it was alright with every single one of us. But mostly…Claire loved God. He used her journey of pain and sadness to show others, that even in the darkest hours there could be light and laughter.

Claire was a fighter. She is an 18 year survivor and warrior of a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis type 1, as well as optic glioma (later turning into a rareonly 60 in the worldmalignant intracranial  nerve sheath tumor). She has survived many rounds of chemotherapy, eight brain surgeries, numerous amounts of MRI, CT, x-rays, pokes, and labs that no child should have ever had to face. In and out of hospitals her entire life, Claire was cared for full-time by her Momma, and Mimi and Papa.
