Charles TOM "TOM" McBride

Mr. Charles "TOM" McBride, 75, of Grayling passed away on Friday, November 28th, 2008. Tom was born in Hazel Park, Michigan on February 3, 1933. He is the son of the late James Joseph and Madeline V. (Wood) McBride. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Airman First Class during the Korean War. Tom married the former Catherine Gallagher on September 1,1956 at St Rita's in Detroit. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in Chemical and Electrical Engineering He worked as a production engineer at the GM Tech Center. He moved to the Grayling area in 1984 from Huntington Woods. Tom and his wife Cathy own and operate McBrides Cabins of Grayling. Tom was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Michelson Mens Group, and the Grayling Snowmobile Association He is survived by: Wife: Cathy 7 Children & 14 Grandchildren Children: Maureen (Jim) Townsend of Comstock Park and their children Mollie. Katie, Carolyn & Ali Tom (Lisa) McBride of Novi and their son Tommy Patty (Mike) Nackerman of Chesterfield, VA and their children Colleen, John, & Heather Tim McBride of Madison Heights. Coleen (Roger) Hella of Troy and their children Megan, Martin, & Mitchell Cathleen (Tim) Depp of Hartland and their children Justin, Erin, & Brian Jim McBride of Royal Oak His brother: Jim McBride of Madison Heights His sister: Virginia (John) Marko of Macomb Twp. His brother-in-law: Louie Essiambre Preceded in death by his sister, Pat Essiambre. Visitation will be on Monday December 1, 2008 between 2 - 8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grayling, MI, at 11:00 A. M. on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 by Father Bill Overmann, a life long family friend. There will be visitation from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the mass. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling. Graveside military honors will be accorded.
