Catherine Ann McBride

Catherine Ann McBride, 86, of Grayling, passed away on August 9, 2022.

She was born on May 3, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Charles and Edna (McKnight) Gallagher. Cathy married Charles "Tom" McBride on September 1, 1956 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Detroit. They were married for 52 years before he preceded her in death in 2008. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lake Margrethe Homeowners Association, and Grayling Promotional Association, Cathy generously donated her time volunteering for Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and Crawford County Christian Help Center. Cathy and her husband Tom left Huntington Woods 41 years ago to move to a place called 'Heaven on Earth' coming to Grayling, where they owned and operated McBrides Cabins.

Survived by their children: Maureen (Jim) Townsend of Sand Lake; Tom McBride of Michigan; Patty (Michael) Nackerman of Virginia; Tim McBride of Madison Heights; Coleen (Roger) Hella of Troy; Cathleen (Tim) Depp of Hartland; and Jim McBride of Royal Oak. She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Brother: Bud Gallagher.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, and brother Robert Gallagher.

Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11, 2022 between 6-9 p.m. and Friday, August 12 between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church August 12 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
