Carolynn Louise Baker, age 80, of Traverse City, formerly of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side in Traverse City on February 20, 2025.
She was born on November 11, 1944 to Claude T. Halstead and Betty L. (Patterson) Lewis in Manistee, MI. She liked bowling, going to the casino, and enjoyed baking. She was an active member of The Grayling Free Methodist Church before her illness and moved to Traverse City. She was also a member of the Grayling Eagles Club. Carolynn enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, hosting holidays, and reading.
Carolynn is survived by her daughter, Milinda (Curt) Cuddeback; siblings, Raymond (Sara) Halstead, sister-in-law Paula Halstead, Kenneth Halstead, Kim (Dawn) Halstead, Elizabeth (Steve) Weaver, Dwayne (Margaret) Halstead, brother-in-law Tom Dutkovich, Brenda (Jack) Muller, Phillip (Dawn) Lewis; and grandchildren, Dustin Golnick and Dillon (Merideth) Golnick.She is preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Arlene Halstead and step-father Ed Lewis, husband Harold Baker, siblings Leslie Halstead, Diana Dutkovich, and Laura Halstead, and son David Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 1:00 pm with visitation starting an hour prior at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI with Pastor Josh Angel officiating. Interment of Carolynn's cremated remains will take place in the spring.
