Caroline Patricia "(Pat)" Hayes (McKenna)

Caroline Patricia (Pat) Hayes May 28, 1922 - April 9, 2014 Longtime Grayling resident Pat' Hayes died peacefully with family present at Mercy Manor in Grayling. A private memorial service will be held at a future date. Mrs. Hayes was born on May 28, 1922 in Detroit to Joseph McKenna and Mabel (Colladay) McKenna. She moved to Grayling in 1925 and was raised by her cousin, Fern Johnson. During World War Two, Pat worked at a defense plant in Detroit. In 1946 she married Oliver (Wes) Hayes. She taught Sunday School for many years at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church, and chaired the local American Cancer Society during the 1960's. She was preceded in death by her husband and one infant son. Pat is survived by Oliver and Deborah Hayes of Linden, Robert and Joy Hayes of Nashville, Gregory and Laura Hayes of Linden, six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
