Candice Lyn Seymour

August 19, 1948 — December 24, 2015

Candy Seymour Candice (Candy) Seymour, age 67, of Grayling, Michigan (formerly of Swartz Creek and Flint) passed away peacefully at her home December 24, 2015 after a brief yet brave battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and family, whom she cherished more than anything. Born in Flint on August 19th, 1948, Candy was preceded in death by her parents Beverly (Bill) and Ted LeVoir, sister Debbie LeVoir and father-in-law Hank. Candy is survived by her beloved husband Joe, with whom she shared over 49 years of love, laughter and joy. She was extremely proud of her two daughters, Stephanie (Scott) Gruener and Michele (Pete) Lynch as well as her grandchildren Jeff, Riley and Aidan. She adored her sisters Pam (Ray) Lee and Lorrie LeVoir, brother Andrew and sister-in-law Laurie Hoskin. Her mother-in-law Gladys was like a second mom to her. She also leaves behind brothers in-law Jim (De) and Rick (Paula), sister-in-law Marie (John Green), plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless treasured friends. A graduate of St. Matthew's Catholic High School, Candy spent many years in Flint where she and Joe raised their daughters. She retired five years ago from Flint Medical Lab/Flint Clinical Pathologists after 33 years. Following retirement, Candy and Joe moved to their "cabin in the woods" in Grayling and she was happiest when family and friends visited. Spending time with loved ones was what she enjoyed most. She laughed a lot and loved cooking big meals. A charter member of the Durand Moose Lodge, Candy later became active in the Grayling Moose Lodge and Eagles Club, and liked helping with their charitable efforts. Golf and bowling were her favorite hobbies, and she was thrilled over her hole-inone in golf in 2007 and perfect 300 bowling game in 2010. Candy lived a very full life, and words can't describe how much she loved and was loved. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent, as a charity will be chosen in time for the celebration. Condolences may be sent to www.sorensonlockwood.com To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Candice Lyn Seymour, please visit our flower store.
