Brenda Louise Carr

Brenda Louise Carr, 73 of Grayling, passed away on June 29, 2024 at home with her family.

Brenda was born in Wyandotte, MI to the late Marshall and Sarah "Sally" (Folgado) Granger on April 12, 1951. She was the second of seven children and very close to her siblings. She moved up to Grayling in the late 70's where she met the love of her life Allen "Chauncey" Carr and together they raised three daughters. Brenda truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; working on puzzles, shopping, online slot games, chatting with friends, listening to music (subjecting her family to Roger Whittaker cause he was "The Man"), playing cards and mostly spending time with her family whether it be at family gatherings or an all night "Granger Girls" coffee and card party.

She was the kindest and gentlest of souls and anyone who knew her loved her. Her friends would say she was funny and carefree and always kept them laughing. Her family would say that she was a constant presence in their lives and her arms were always there to hold you tight. A Mother's hug is the first hug you receive. It is the touch of life and unconditional love, which accompanies us in all moments, aspects, and phases of our lives. And that is what she was. Her greatest joys were being a Mother (which she was the best), a Grandmother and great Grandmother (a love extended ten fold by the love of her children). She will be missed by so many!

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Allen Carr Jr.; Children Shannon (Bill) Franks, Kristen (Royal) Haight and Nicole (Darren) Buck; Grandchildren, Amanda (Clinton) Orr, Jessica Moran, Chase Johnson, Travis Johnson, Dominick Perry, Matthew Pittman and Magdalene Haight; great-grandchildren, Haidyn, Emmalynne, Ella, Landon, Kinley, Kolton and Oliver; Siblings, Sally Tapper, David (Jan) Granger, Tina (Dave) Bowers and Carol Granger; Brother-in Law, Tim Lobsinger; life-long BFF of 50+ years, Jackie Gerhardi; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and Fur-baby, Bosley.

She is preceded in death by her brother Marshall Granger and sister Christine Lobsinger and by her parents.

The family would like to remember Brenda privately at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.

Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
