Billy Reed

Billy Ross Reed, Sr., 82, a resident Grand Blanc and Grayling, MI., passed away January 17, 2015 at his residence in Grayling with family by his side. Billy was born in Dyersburg, TN. on June 21, 1932. The eldest son of Ross Burt Reed and Pauline Vera Joslin. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jean Algoe Reed; Daughter, Pamela Sue Spencer of Grand Blanc MI.; Son, Billy Ross Reed Jr. of Dyersburg TN.; Daughter, Lisa Ann Sementkowski (Christopher) of Royal Oak MI. Grand kids: Morgan and Rebecca Reed, Mathew (Katie) Spencer and Melissa (Adrian) Maldonado, Amanda and Maxwell Sementkowski. Great granddaughter, Ayra Renae Spencer and brother, Bobby Gene Reed of Dyersburg, TN. Billy served 4 years in the United States Air Force during the Korean war. He married Jean Algoe Blanchard on July 1, 1960 in Flushing, MI. He was a loving and kind husband, father and grandfather. His favorite thing was collecting friends and pets. Billy never met a stranger, you were his friend from the word hello. Billy was loved by all who knew him. He never turned away stray animal or person in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his lake home in Grayling, it was his favorite place on earth. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Grand Blanc Chapel on Saturday, January 24, 2015 between 2-8 p.m. Burial will take place in the spring in Grayling, MI with a graveside memorial service and followed by a get together at the lake. This will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to the Wounded Warrior Fund, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital or please go rescue an animal in his memory.
