Barbara Ann Myers

Barbara Ann (Stinson) Myers, 88, was born on June 27, 1928 to William and Isabel Stinson in Detroit. She married Allan Myers January 27, 1951. She was a bookkeeper downstate before retiring to beautiful Northern Michigan. She enjoyed quilting Tuesday mornings with the quilting gals at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church for years after retirement. Barbara also enjoyed doing needlepoint, reading, watching birds, playing pinochle with family and friends, praising her Lord and Savior and reading from her Bible. She was a member at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church since retiring up north. Barbara quietly and peacefully died a few a few hours after moving into Curry House in Cadillac Monday afternoon, July 25, 2016, where her husband of 65 years died the week before (7/18/2016). She is survived by a daughter, Christine (David) Lauria; son, Frank (Jeanette) Myers; grandson Todd Lauria; granddaughters, Tiffany (Jason) Piro, Jennifer (Edward) Sweet, Jeanne Ann (Joe) Mirch; 4 great grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander Piro and Victoria and Whitney Mirch; a brother Jack (Lu) Stinson; sister-in-law, Jane Myers; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allan, sister Joan Bedgood, brother-in-law Bart Myers, nephew Sean Bedgood and niece Linda Stinson. A graveside service and burial will take place Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery in Lyon Township (Roscommon), Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial be made in Barbara's memory to the Crawford County Christian Help Center in Grayling, The Lutheran Women's Missionary League for Mites or any organization which is special to you.
