With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Barbara Mary McIntyre, who left us on July 31, 2024, to be with our heavenly father. She passed away peacefully at Bishop Noa Home, in Escanaba, MI, surrounded by loved ones.

Barbara Mary Roach was born to Eva and Patrick Roach, II, on December 8, 1951, in Mount Clemens, MI. She grew up in Livonia, MI. After graduating high school, she married Donald McIntyre and moved to Houghton, MI. They moved to Midland, MI, in 1974 and divorced in 1979. Barb spent most of her life working for Dow Chemical Company. However, in 2001 she moved to Mount Pleasant, MI, to work for Central Michigan University’s College of Health Professions. Barb was known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and her red-headed stubbornness. Her passions included volunteering in her community, sewing, baking, spending time outdoors walking, riding her bike, and gardening. 

She is survived by her daughter Kelly McIntyre, grandchildren Lauren and Ryker, sister Kathleen (Patrick) Wyman, sister Maureen (Robert) Conklin, sister Brenda (Dennis) Pekel, sister-in-law Donna Roach, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother Eva Roach, father Patrick Roach, II, and brother Patrick Roach, III.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery, Grayling, MI. Following the graveside service, a light luncheon will be served at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bishop Noa Home, attn: Activity Department, or Upper Peninsula Hospice Care, in Barb’s memory.

Barb will be remembered for her lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched. May she now rest in peace, forever loved and missed.
