Andrew Stewart Donaldson

Andrew Stewart Donaldson, Jr., 87, of Grayling passed away on Friday, April 13th, 2007. Mr. Donaldson was born in Detroit, MI on May 13, 1919, the son of the late Andrew C. and Mary (Bell) Donaldson. He served in the U.S. Army as a Hospital Corpsman in WW II. He married Goldie Geraldine Jariett on June 4, 1948. They were married for 58 years before Goldie preceded him in death on November 7, 2006. Andrew was a retired Firefighter in the Detroit Fire Dept. He moved to Grayling in 1972, coming from Detroit. Mr. Donaldson was instrumental in starting up the South Branch Volunteer Fire Dept., He was also involved in the Civilian Conservation Corp, the Masons, and Circle 13 CB Club. . Member of the Roscommon VFW Post 4159 where he served as past commander and chaplain. Survived by: Daughter: Lori (Barb Harris) Donaldson of Madison, WI. Son(s): David (Brenda) Donaldson of Florida., Douglas (Joan Neal) Donaldson of Grayling, MI., William (Lisa) Donaldson of Roscommon, MI., Robert Donaldson of Grayling, MI. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchildren. Brothers: Charles Donaldson of Belleville, Michigan David (Marilyn) Donaldson of Traverse City. Memorial Service will be held on Friday April 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Roscommon VFW Post 4159.
