Amber Nichole Smith

Amber Nichole Smith passed away peacefully from this earth on January 1, 2024 surrounded by her family at Munson Healthcare - Grayling Hospital at the age of 37 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Amber was born to Terry and Donna (Horning) Smith on February 25, 1986 in Grayling, MI. Amber loved the outdoors, especially hammocking outside. She enjoyed playing video games and shopping. She also enjoyed helping people, which is probably why she worked as a CNA for quite some time. Most important to her and what she loved most was being a mom. Amber will be missed by so many people.

Amber is survived by her children Arica Armstrong, Gabriel Smith-Pepsin and Elena Smith; siblings Michaeleen Bentz, Michael Smith, Nate Heichel, Kim Wood, Danielle (Brandon) Schuette, Jonathan (Vallen) Webb, Jennifer (Chris Bennett) Webb, and Jessica (Tim) Webb; step-father Jeff Webb; father Terry Smith; nieces and nephews Tristen bentz, Audrey bentz, Abigail Schuette, Levi Schuette, Heaven Schuette, Scarlett Schuette and Riley Schuette; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Amber is preceded in death by father to her son Gabriel, Andrew Pepsin, mother Donna Horning, Grandpa Bear, Grandma Linda Kochen, and Grandma Michaeleen Smith.

A Gathering of Family and Friends to Remember Amber will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home to help with funeral costs.
