Allan Myers

Allan Myers, 87, was born August 12, 1928 to Omar & Sylvia Myers in Detroit, MI. He married Barbara Ann Stinson January 27, 1951. He was a carpenter downstate before retiring to Northern Michigan. He enjoyed working with wood, gardening and watching birds at his feeders. He loved to talk about homes he had worked on. Al was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Grayling since moving here. He has volunteered at the Crawford County Christian Community Help Center, Habitat for Humanity and was an RSVP volunteer. Allan quietly and peacefully died early Monday morning July 18, 2016 at Curry House in Cadillac, MI. Allan is survived by his wife Barbara who celebrated 65 years of Christian marriage earlier this year; a daughter Christine (David) Lauria; son, Frank (Jeanette) Myers; granddaughters, Tiffany (Jason) Piro, Jennifer (Edward) Sweet, Jeanne Ann (Joe) Mirch and grandson Todd Lauria; 4 great grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander Piro and Victoria and Whitney Mirch. Services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Grayling, MI with visitation before-hand from 10-11 am. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Lyon Twp., MI. Memorials can be made in his memory to the Crawford County Christian Help Center, The Lutheran Women's Missionary League for Mites or any organization which is special to you.
